Nail care tips for clients to use at home between appointments.......

Natural Nail Home Care

Have your nails manicured weekly for the utmost health of your nails.

Apply Cuticle Oil daily, to hydrate the cuticle & matrix (where your nail is formed) and you will build healthier, stronger nails.  Cuticle oil will also prevent premature chipping or peeling of your polish!

Treat your nails like jewels not tools!

Be careful when opening car doors, use a coin to open canned drinks.

Wear gloves when performing household chores or gardening.

Do not change your nail polish more than once a week as polish remover is a harsh solvent and will dry out your cuticles and nails, causing your nails to become brittle and break easily than nails that are well hydrated (well moisturized)

Always use a basecoat to prevent staining of the natural nail, it also anchors the polish to the natural nail causing it to last longer.

Use a Super Shiny, high gloss top coat every other day or so to seal your polish colour and prevent chipping

Learn to do things with the pads of your fingers rather than your fingertips and nails.

Test your hold when lifting heavy objects to be sure you won't break a nail. Never do anything that would put upwards pressure on the tips of your nails.

A good time to push back your cuticles is after you have taken a shower, bath or after washing the dishes. This is because these activities help to soften the cuticles, making them more pliable and less likely to cause injury.

A top coat or sealer is a liquid that is applied over the nail polish. Any clear nail polish can be used as a top coat or sealer. This will minimize chipping or cracking of the nail. On natural nails, a clear coat can be used every day for seven days to give the nail protection and keep the moisture in.

After washing your hands, apply a cream or lotion. Hands and nails tend to get dried out from soaps and cleansers. You should try to keep your hands and cuticles well lubricated, with a good moisturizer.

Nail Enhancement Home Care

Have your nails rebalanced every 2 weeks for exceptional durability.

Apply Cuticle Oil daily, it hydrates your cuticles & lengthens the life of your enhanced nails.

Treat your nails like jewels not tools!

Be careful when opening car doors, use a coin to open canned drinks.

Wear gloves when performing household chores or gardening, this will stop chemicals coming into contact with the acrylic which will prevent lifting.

Nail Breakage – Do not use glue!!
Temporary patching acrylic with glue may trap dirt and/or bacteria between the natural nail & enhanced nail which may damage the natural nail. Glue is water soluble so it will break down and you may re-break the nail and cause even more damage.
Call asap to come have your nail repaired.

Removal of your enhanced nails
If you decide you no longer wish to wear your enhanced nails, return to have your nails professionally removed.
Do not – take them off yourself!!
Pulling off your enhanced nails yourself will damage your natural nails, you will pull away layers of your natural nail plate which will result in ridges & slow re-growth.
